From the desk of Mr. McCullough

September 19th will be a very special day at Dover High School. We will be participating in the Million Father March! This is an opportunity for men to show their commitment to the educational lives of their children throughout the school year. The Million Father March began in 2004, fathers and other significant male caregivers across the United States and around the world have gathered to accompany their children to school each year.

The Million Father March is not only for fathers but Grandfathers, foster fathers, stepfathers, uncles, cousins, big brothers, significant male caregivers and other male role models are all encouraged to participate.

The research shows that children whose take active roles in their educational lives earn better grades, score higher on tests, enjoy school more and are more likely to graduate from high school and pursue post-secondary educational opportunities.

The mission is to increase a Fathers involvement in schools and having them serve as strong role models and leaders for our children whose fathers are absent. Dover High School will be looking for Men to serve as mentors not only in the building but in our community each and every day.

We look forward to a wonderful experience with our fathers on September 19th, 2017!
