The Birds will fly once again in the Super Bowl this Sunday, February 4th at 6:30pm. It’s been 14 years since the last time the Philadelphia Eagles were in the biggest game of them all, and they are hoping for a redemption win against the New England Patriots.

The Patriots defeated the Eagles 24-21 during Super Bowl  XXXIX. Shortly after that devastating loss, the Patriots were caught in several cheating scandals. Some of these incidents include the Patriots recording other teams practices, their players testing positive for performance enhancing drugs, and, most recently, going as far as deflating a ball, knows as “deflategate.”  This Super Bowl is filled with so much tension because of these past issues with the Patriots cheating. Everyone is skeptical that they might try to do whatever they can to beat the Eagles, but this year, the Eagle’s are going in strong with a record of 13-3 and the team, and its fans, seem to be feeling very confident.

Even without the primary quarterback Carson Wentz, running back Darren Sproles, and early season loss of veteran tackle Jason Peters, the Eagles have proven time and time again that they will come out on time when the time comes. Current quarterback Nick Foles was given opportunity that most players would love to have when Wentz injured his knee and taken out for the season. Foles stepped in at the peak of the season, at which time many people, including fans, didn’t believe that Foles would be able to have the success the Wentz carried throughout the beginning of the year. But Foles was able to prove them all wrong by leading the team into the playoffs, by making key plays that gave them the ability to make into Super Bowl Lll.

As the underdogs in the game, they have a lot of work to do this Sunday especially against Tom Brady, who is one of the best when it comes to making the Patriots offensive have some incredible plays and for winning games last minute. The Dallas Cowboys, divisional rival to the Eagles, even posted an encouraging meme in support of taking the Pats down.

The Patriots better watch out because this Eagles team is bringing it all on Sunday to take it all.
